If anyone needs a gift for [livejournal.com profile] bookwurm, I point you towards today's* Shirt.Woot. (Size: Men's L)

They say it's a dinosaur, but I mean really ... what do they know from dragons?

Er ... or something like that!

We're getting a large number of packages, many of them from Amazon. (At this point I think Amazon employees may start naming children after me.) So it wasn't a particular suprise when I received two Amazon packages addressed to me on Wednesday. The first was an expected present for a friend, ok, mark receipt of package off my list and put it on the pile To Be Wrapped.

I opened the second and noticed that it was already wrapped. "Oh great," I though, "they sent one of the packages that was supposed to be shipped directly to the recipient to me instead!" Then I looked at the card ... no, this one was actually for me.

Now my biggest joy this year is actually being able to give more easily, but that doesn't mean I wasn't delighted that Rileybear67 sent me a copy of I'm Just Here for the Food: Version 2.0! Woohoo!

Oh, while I promise I won't become a fundamentalist I will certainly be happy to cook for you!

OK, I'd like to pick the collective brains of my LJ friends. I'm seeking suggestions for a present for my Grandmother who, I recently learned, really likes books of poetry. (It never really came up before, the things you learn about the people you love, huh?) She's also 80 years old and probably isn't going to like my favorite poets -- I suspect Shel Silverstein just isn't her cup of sweet iced tea. I know she likes Christian oriented poetry, but ... well, let's just say it's not really a genre with which I'm very familiar nor one I'm likely be become familiar anytime soon.

So ... can anyone make some suggestions based on this criteria? I'm also thinking some 'classic' poets like Frost or Dickinson might be appropriate. Thoughts, anyone?

A general comment, not aimed at anyone in particular: just because I buy you a present, please don't feel obligated to buy one for me! I am enjoying being able to give random friends presents, but it's not in any way with an expectation of getting something back. My happiness in this really is with the giving; Gods it feels good to be able to do this again after so long of not being able to do so.
