A Hero No More: Now With Added Irony

I've dropped my City of Heroes account, although I'm still payed up through the 28th of October. I still think it's a great game and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the Super Hero genre, but after a year I'm bored with it. I rarely see the people I enjoyed playing with up there anymore and I usually have nothing but bad experiences teaming with random strangers. When I realized that I hadn't logged on in over two weeks and I hadn't missed it, I knew it was time to stop paying for an account I wasn't using anymore. Besides if I really want to play again, I can always pay for another month -- NCSoft says my characters will still be there.

Then there's the ironic part: about a week after I canceled my account, I received an email inviting me to be a part of the City of Villans playtest. So all I had to do to get into the playtest was cancel my account? I'm tempted to try it out a little just to say hi to some friends there.

So what's going to be my next MMORPG? I'm thinking World of Warcraft, although I'm probably not going to pick up any new online game until after November. I think I'm going to be just a little too busy to start a new major commitment!
