awfulhorrid: (Love my coffee)

I started to write this up a few weeks ago, but I've been a bit busy and realized I was complaining far too much about the hotel and things that are simply just inherent to Capricon itself and aren't likely to change ever. There were real problems, both with the hotel and the conventio programming. Other than that, let's have ...

The quick, quick version: I had a blast! While the convention itself wasn't that great, I loved visiting my friends, including those that were stuck in the dealer's room trying to turn a profit in this poor economy. (Oddly enough, leather collars and mutant stuffed animals seemed to make up the majority of my purchases this year.) For the first time in well ever, really, I went to the dance. I had a great time and intend to at least try to work that into my schedule for other conventions. (Thanks [livejournal.com profile] ladypoetess)

I don't usually go out of my way to freak the mundanes. Not exactly, anyway. (If I happen to be living my life and they freak, that's their problem.) However, I will make exceptions in some cases. In this case, the hotel booked a bar mitzvah in the middle of the convention space. Honestly, I can't imagine this went over well with them either, and I think someone at the hotel should really use their brain a bit better than that, but ... Well, when I see people in suits and fancy dresses cluttering up the hallway in what was formerly our convention space, I get mischevious! I was already wearing my kilt and a decorative leather collar. [livejournal.com profile] bookwurm, [livejournal.com profile] rileybear67 and I had just came back from lunch and we stopped by the hotel room to drop off our coats and such. Before we left, I grabbed my short leash and said "So ... who wants to take me for a walk past the bar mitzhav?" [livejournal.com profile] rileybear67, of course, grinned happily and grabbed the end of the leash ... leading me past there a few times.

(I just couldn't help it, really ...)
